Menu Favorites: All pastries! They also design amazing Wedding cakes.

Carrara Pastries creates delicious & decadent “fine Italian pastries”. The Carrara family is from Lucca, Northern Italy. They opened their business in December 2011. Discovering this place a week ago made me thankful to know that I have a scrumptious, bite of N. Italy in my own backyard. This past week I visited the pastry shop four times. I’ve eaten over seven of their delicious desserts. Their large display refrigerators allow you to view the creations. All pastries displayed have a description of the main ingredients -this makes selection easier, for example: chantilly cream, hazelnut, chocolate filling, strawberries etc. Staff is also super friendly & helpful they will assist you when needed.

Tip: Preorder for a special occasion, although they have tons of daily, fresh pastries & cakes. Difference between a cake & a pastryPastry is made from flour a little water & butter/shortening oil & sometimes sugar & primarily used to encase savory foods. Sometimes a pastry can stand alone like the “Profiterol” (a croccante hazelnut base with bigné filled with zabaione cream, topped with fine Italian chocolate glaze). A cake is a stand-alone dessert which along with butter/shortening oil & flour also contains a mild raising agents eggs & some form of liquid usually milk cake are usually turned out to cool before being iced, frosted or decorated. Cake is sometimes called a pastry.

Menu Favorites: Mango Rice (seasonal), Tom Yum Vegetable Soup, Eggplant Tofu with Sweet Basil plus a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, seafood, pan-fried noodle & currys.

Rachada uses the freshest ingredients. Whether enjoying a Thai Spring Roll, a Tom Yum Soup or a more elaborate entre, the sense of freshness is immediately apparent. Dishes look exotic, flavors are concentrated & complement one another. When in doubt ask the servers for they have great recommendations. My favorite are the vegetarian dishes they are simple yet have sophisticated seasoning, which leave my taste buds anticipating the next bite. I highly recommend the Mango Rice made with ripe mango, sticky rice & coconut milk – a great dessert large enough portion to share.

Tip: Conveniently located off New Los Angeles Ave., there is ample parking. Rachada provides Take-out, Catering & Delivery within a 3 mile radius with orderes over $20 & there is a $2.00 fee.
